January: The Month of Janus

Thursday January 1, 2009
In Roman mythology, Janus is known as the god of doors, gates and new beginnings. What better time to honor him than in January, the month named in his honor? Janus is also a god with two faces, which allowed him to see into both the past and future, so he is a deity often associated with prophecy: Janus, the Two Faced God

Dear Sir/Madam,
I am sorry to interfer with your faith but there are some untrue satements I encountered during my tour of your wicca teachings. It concerns “Wicca and Satanism” I will first start by establishing that you are a wiccan. There is a whole lot of spiritual knowledge we have to know about before differentiating between wicca and satanism.unfortunately, they are the same. satan is not merely a christian immaginary creation jinxed with all evil to run away from or to help establish the christian faith. If you do believe that demons exist then satan is included because he is a demon. There are two kinds of supernatural beings we know a little about affecting the souls of humankind. They are the angles and demons. Angels are known to be good mannered and demons as bad. We are however talking about the satanic trend which means evil or bad. The truth is all forms of witchcraft including spells and magic were first thought by demons. From the early years of babylon to Egypt(during Pharoads’ days)and then to the roman and bazyntine empire up to present days. Demons had the knowledge, spread it, till it became popular among humankind and then vanished. There are still people who summon supernatural forces (demons) to either affect their lives or harm others. The truth is the knowledge originated from them and is now been sifted from what is good to what is bad.
Finally, I mean no offence but this is the truth of the matter. There is no way witchcraft can be associated with goodness. Am sorry for this is the path you’ve chosen. Something extremely significant is at hand. I hope you pay keen attention and await. It’s humanity’s cause and we are all part of it.
Thank you for the attention.

sincerely your.

I just love it when people come along who clearly know absolutely nothing about my beliefs and then try to define them for me. It would be a bit like me saying, “Oh, well, you Christians really do worship the flying spaghetti monster…. but hey, no offense!”

Perhaps you should focus your concern for humanity on fixing your own ignorance, rather than trying to convert strangers based upon the misinformation you’re spouting.

What a hoot!
So according to this guy, All the gods of antiquity are actually demons and devils because his GOD says so.
It’s that kind of thinking that drives me away from Christianity.

I think he is saying his god is a demon as well:
“There are still people who summon supernatural forces (demons) to either affect their lives or harm others.”
Praying is summoning supernatural forces, really.

Oh well, happy January. :)

It’s obvious that Alphanso is just doing random bashing. If he had actually read the article about Janus he would have learned some ancient history, even if it is only mythology.
Do bashers like him realize that the days of the week and month names are based on ancient Gods and Goddesses? When do you suppose they’ll try to change them to something boring?

(6) whimsy says:

oh for goodness’ sakes!
the best thing about being ignorant is having the confidence to expound your ridiculousness on others unabashed.
wasn’t Satan, when he was previously known as Lucifer, an angel?
there is also a world of difference between Satanism and Wicca, which are not even close to being “the same”. and neither paradigm are good or evil, instead concerned with learning to manifest one’s Will as one chooses.
and what does any of this have to do with Janus???
it is my suggestion that alphanso gets educated about his/her own Christian mythos before attempting to sunder the beliefs of others.

Sounds like Alphonso watches “Charmed”…..Wiccan’s DO NOT HUNT DEMONS, nor do most believe in the “DEVIL’ or in “SATAN”…that belief is a creation of the mainstream “Christian” religion, designed to “Scare” folks into following the credes and dogma.I still have trouble realizing in my heart that there is no “Supreme Evil Doer” who wants to destroy my life, due to my devout parents Christian Upbringning, but in it all, I think we are who we are…good or bad….there is nothing Satanic about it…..some people do good things, some people do bad things. In the end, The Eternal and God and Goddess decide whom to bless, or ignore.
Blessed Be

oh…and another thought…the idea that prayers are a “satanic” value..leaves me pale and sick to my stomache…..how many children wish upon stars..”Starlight, Starbright, first star I see tonght, I wish I may, I wish I mighy have this wish I wish tonight!”….is that a satanic idea?…..wishes,hopes and intentions have been a part of hope and love for all of time…to say that a simple wish is of demonic creation is ludicrious.

(11) coleen says:

Alphanso–you are the one who belives and demons and satan not any person that practices nature spirituality.
Where do you get your information?—you are hearing voices???? or you actually think that your god wrote it down somewhere or told some chosen people to write it down. Nature religion is the oldest form of spirituality that is a fact if you study any kind of art history or archeology. The organized religions of Christian, Jewish, and Muslim are just different variations of the same mind set which is about giving your power away to others above you, there is one powerful alien Male god seperate from everything else, intolerant of any other viewpoint so to cause tremendous pain, death, and suffering to other which is what is evil; but all the while saying to others this is exactly what is happening, we have the right religion, this is exactly what you belive because my priest told me so and god told him–foolish. Every ritual your church has is stolen from paganism and Guess what??? The FACT IS THAT IT IS ALL A MYSTERY—NO ONE KNOWS EXACTLY WHAT IS GOING ON BUT THE MYSTERY IS BEAUTIFUL AND IF EVERYONE WAS MORE TOLERANT, MORE CONNECTED TO NATURE AND MORE CONSCIOUS OF HOW THEY ARE USING THERE ENERGY IN THE WORLD it would create more good/peace in the world then any extreme, rigid, all knowing/judgemental viewpoint. If you think you are so right that is great for you but don’t think you have any right to tell others what they believe when you know nothing about nature religions or any other spirituality other then your own. Don’t tell wiccans or pagans what they believe—you have no idea–maybe you should read some books???

Wow what a crock of stuff you find on the barn floor. I had a hard enough time getting past “Dear Sir/Madam” It’s obvious this person can’t tell the difference between male and female and he dares try to teach about the difference between good and evil??? ROTFLMFAO!!!!!!!!!!! And wow if he really wants to be taken seriously he ought to write his thoughts (and I use the term loosely) in something with spell check first, lol. And the gall of starting with “sorry to interfer (sic.)”. Umm he’s not the least bit sorry nor is he the least bit interfering. So, we have established this person is an out an out liar, incapable of using technology, as well as totally oblivious in two very short phrases. Not worth another nanosecond of consideration except for the frightening fact that he and many like him are allowed to run loose. Get me my pitchfork and light the torches!

(13) Vandreyer says:

Irony, gotta love it. Reminds me of a short story I read years ago by Harlan Ellison I believe. God is an Iron. The reasoning: If a person who engages in felony is a felon then one who engages in irony is…. Anyway yeah that would be out anD out liar. lol
