BTVS Goes to College

Okay, while this isn't really truly Wiccan or Pagan news, I know there are a ton of Joss Whedon fans here, so I thought I'd share with you a little nugget of fun out of the Buffyverse. Whedon's work is being discussed at a three-day academic conference at Henderson State University, with over ninety papers being presented. Topics scheduled for discussion include "Buffy and Feminism," "'Firefly': The Illusive Safety of Big Damn Heroes" and "Hero's Journey, Heroine's Return: Buffy, Eurydice and the Orpheus Myth."
I'm all about the Firefly papers, and really hope they'll make a selection available online for us once the conference is over!

Firefly was such a great show, entertaining and unique, just like you’d expect from Joss. Its unfortunate that the movie, Serenity, was used to tie up everything(more or less). I enjoyed the movie, but it felt rushed and too tightly packed, trying to get too much done in too short at time.
I’m a big fan of “Firefly” and I agree with Rich about the movie. I think it was a shame when they cancelled it. If I
had as much money as Bill Gates I would pay to have the next one made myself.
I’d give just about anything to see another Joss Whedon show or spinoff from the Buffy universe! Few writers/producers/creators can capture so much camp and fun entwined into so much raw depth. Well worth philosophical analysis!
