Some of you may have noticed that the site has a new look to it. The About.com redesign should be launching in full soon, so if you're one of the few readers not seeing the new appearance yet, you will soon. Personally, I like it a lot -- I think it looks great, and it allows me to post a lot more links to different sections of the site right here on the landing page.

I noticed the new design once, but it never showed up again, including this time. I agree that the new design is better, much better in fact. I’m a web designer and found the old design rather dated and hard to read. It could still use some improvements, but it is better. I like how the comments are on the same page as the article so I don’t have to click as much. Can’t wait for it to go live.
Yeah, it’s an A/B test right now, which means about 50% of readers are seeing the old version, and the other half are seeing the new redesign. This changes periodically, so people who see the new one today might see the old look tomorrow. I believe the goal is to have everything converted over by the end of next week.
Our Forums switched to the redesign a couple of months ago, and once people got past the “OMG change is Skeery” thing, we’ve had really positive feedback. I agree that the old look was very dated, and I think that’s part of the reason for the shift.
