FAQ: How Can I Learn About Wicca?

From the magical email bag, a reader asks, "I want to learn about the Wiccan religion. Can you tell me where to find some information?"

Erm... uh... well, I'm rather hoping you'll find some information of use on this site. You know, that's why it's here. In fact, if you look up at the top of this page, it says Pagan/Wiccan Religion. That having been said, I'd recommend starting with Wicca and Paganism Basics, which covers stuff like deities and general concepts. Another thing I'd strongly suggest is doing some reading -- not on the Internet, but with actual books. A lot of people ask me which books are good and which ones aren't. I've put together a list of the thirteen books every Wiccan should read -- think of it as a Wiccan readers' starter kit.
Finally, in addition to reading the info here on the site, and digging into books, if there are specific questions you have, you can always visit our Discussion Forums, where there are plenty of people from diverse spiritual paths who can try to help you find the answer.
**Note that when I say "specific" questions, I mean questions other than "yo peepz wut can u tell me about teh WiCcAz?"

File that question under “well, DUH!”.
Typical that a person with a plethora of information right in front of them is incapable of finding that information out of a sheer sense of laziness. We cannot expect another to do all the work and have the Goddess bestow upon us the wisdom of the Universe. If we want to know the Mysteries, we must seek them out ourselves with gentle guidance as necessary.
Well, you know, I thought the same thing. I couldn’t figure out how they managed to find my email, but not see that giant red PAGAN/WICCAN RELIGION sign up at the top. It was very odd. Glad to know it’s not just me thinking this.

I think the reason someone would ask such a question is because everything you write about doesn’t start with “Learn the basics of…” Being this is a blog, people tend to believe that there is no useful information. But I think the problem is that people don’t READ what’s infront if them.. They use their eyes to see, but not actually look.
By the way, that last sentence had me laughing, and in tears.
