Women of the Otherworld Series
- Since Laurell K Hamilton and Charlaine Harris have already been mentioned, I'll add the Women of the Otherworld series by Kelley Armstrong. She has every kind of supernatural you can think of from witches to necromancers to half demons. Her writing is witty and entertaining and her characters draw you right in. The series starts with Elena Michaels, the only living female werewolf, then moves on to Paige Winterbourne, a witch, then Eve Levine, a deceased witch, then Jaime Vegas, a necromancer and in the last couple books Hope Adams, a half demon with a very interesting power. If you enjoy lots of different characters and a different perspective on familiar mythical supernaturals, I highly recommend this series. You will love it!!!!

witchy & other alt faves
- I love all the Nora Roberts series that were mentioned. I highly reccommned any of them. She's gets petty "magickal" in some of her newer series. It does make one wonder. One of my fave authors recently is Laurell K. Hamillton. While her Anita Blake series is technically about vampires & shapeshifters, she does also showcase witches, Wiccans & Voodoo. She also has a series about both sides of the Faerie Sidthe that are very interesting. MIndy Klasky also has a great trio on a 20-something who "falls into" the craft - the books are light, cute & very funny. I loved them. I also just atarted new series by Annette Blair that looks VERY promising (http://www.annetteblair.com/index.html)

Stonewylde!
- There is a fantastic series of books by Kit Berry. The first is called Magus of Stonewylde, the second Moondance at Stonewylde and the third Solstice at Stonewylde. It is available from Amazon or her Stonewylde website. The story is set in a village cut off from the rest of England by a high wall and run in the old pagan ways. The descriptions of the ceremonies are excellent. I cant wait for book number 4!

House of Night series
- This is a young adult series by PC Cast and Kristin Cast. It's about teens who are marked as vampires and go to live at vampire school. Shows magic in a positive light. There are 5 books in the series, Marked is the first.

My Witchy Reads
- Ah....my favorite subject--books! In addition to the before mentioned favorites (Jim Butcher, Charlaine Harris, Kim Harrison, & Madelyn Alt), I'm also a fan of Victoria Laurie's Abby Cooper series as well as her M.J. Holloway series. Abby Cooper is a psychic and M.J. Holloway is a ghost buster (literally!). I'm also a fan of Wendy Roberts' Sadie Novak series (she helps ghosts cross over). Surprisingly, Janet Evanovich's "between the numbers" novels deal with some supernatural happenings and are one of my favorite forms of entertainment. Thanks for giving me new authors to check out, as I'm almost caught up with all of these! Happy reading! ChickDude1

Night World 1-3
- I'm in my early 30's and these are supposed to be teen novels, but they are actually so good that you can't put them down. I also have to go for the Twilight Series.

Another Nora Roberts
- It's part of a series my girlfriend has lent me. Charmed and Enchanted. It's one book , 2 stories. Some good facts in there and a lot of fantasy, If ya know what I mean.

Rosalind Miles
- Almost every book by Rosalind Miles focuses on Mother Goddess worship vs. Christian patriarchy. Her Isolde and Guenevere trilogies are among her best works of fiction. I am always surprised that she is not mentioned by more Pagan authors.

The Circle Trilogy
- This, like the Three Sisters Island Trilogy, is by Nora Roberts. Begin with Morrigan's Cross, then Dance of the Gods, and finally Valley of Silence. Another great series!

Harry Potter
- I know it is not Witches in the Pagan sense but I don,t know a single Pagan who has not read at least one book in the seven book series. It is geared toward teens but everyone will feel for the poor orphan boy. I cannot believe the detail J.K.Rowling has put into the world she has created.

Favorites
- A few people have already mentioned Kim Harrison's Hollows series, Jim Butcher's Dresden Files and C.E. Murphy's Walker series, which are among my favorites. I also like Rob Thurman's Cal Leandros series that starts with Nightlife. There are no major witch characters, but a lot of mythology and action. Charlaine Harris' Southern Vampire series is very good. You may have seen the HBO series True Blood, which is derived from the books. The TV series has gone well past what is in the books. In the later books, Sookie ends up with a couple of witch roommates who are refugees from Katrina. Patricia Briggs Mercy Thompson series focuses on a shifter who can change into a coyote. Again, there's no major witch character, but magic is worked and just another part of life.
