What's On My Altar
Here is my 2008 Yule Altar. One of our candles my sister and I engraved things to represent us. I engraved my on-line name. One candle was pink to represent our friendship. One candle (mine was green) to represent Yule. The fourth candle represented what we wanted for the upcoming year (mine was light blue for healing). The candles were placed at the four directions. Holly was placed within the candles to represent the Holly King.
How I Celebrated Yule
My sister and I did a joint ritual over the phone. Taken from a herb book. It was called a Midwife Ritual. We used real Holly. The ritual we performed was the Midwifery Ritual to mark the birth of the new year and the Holly King's reign, and the passing of the old year and the Oak King's reign. We strung holly berries on nylon string to represent our wishes for the new year. We reflected on the past year and expressed desires for new. Was good to connect with her via phone and riutal. Was great since we won't be together Yule or the Holidays.
Tips and Tricks
- You can do a ritual with someone even if they're not physically present, thanks to technology!
