From Amy Blackthorn

Advice I Was Given, and By Whom

In my Dedicancy my High Priestess told us all, "Ask Why".

Why They Gave it To Me

Whether you read it in a book, or hear it from me, ask why. It will keep you thinking, level headed and good at what you do. Never take "Because I said so" as gospel. Everything we do has a reason, and it's important you know why. It will keep you grounded in the here and now.

Lessons Learned

  • Being High Priestess doesn't make someone infallible. You are still human. Once you have been doing something for a long time, you tend to take for granted the "whys". Sometimes we forget the small things. It is up to the student to ask the questions they have. There are no "dumb questions" just ones that don't get asked.

How This Advice Impacted My Life as a Pagan

It helps me connect with my students, for we are all learning together. Anyone who isn't learning from their students, as their students are learning from them, may not be the best teacher.

It surely means that I don't know"
