Create a pocket for a hanging rod along the top edge of the banner.

Next, you'll create a pocket for the hanging rods. Press about 2" back on the top, and then about 1 ½" on the bottom, as in Figure 2. Stitch these in place, but be sure to leave them open at either end so you can insert the dowel rods. Using one on the bottom helps keep your banner from flopping around when it's hanging. If you're making this out of felt, you can use craft glue or hot glue to keep these folds in place.
