How Do I Unsubscribe from an E-Course or Newsletter?

By Patti Wigington, About.com

Question: How Do I Unsubscribe from an E-Course or Newsletter?
Answer:

About Pagan/Wiccan offers a weekly newsletter as well as a variety of e-courses. I frequently get requests to change someone's email address or to unsubscribe them from the newsletter or an e-course. However, because About.com values your privacy, these are changes that only you, the reader, can make. As a Site Guide, I don't have access to the newsletter subscriber lists and I am unable to personally change or delete email addresses for subscribers. However, it's very easy for you to do on your own - here's how to unsubscribe or to change your address:

Each newsletter (or class) has a link at the bottom that says "unsubscribe." All you have to do is click that link -- or cut and paste it into your browser bar -- and POOF! It's magic! You're unsubscribed! If you want to change your e-mail address, rather than unsubscribe completely, you can either unsuscribe under your present address and then re-subscribe under your new email address, or you can just subscribe under your new addy. After the newsletter bounces back a few times from your old address, that address automatically gets deleted from the subscriber base.

Again, I personally am unable to change or delete your info. The system asks for personal information, like your date of birth or zip code, which I don't have... and it does this to make sure you really want to make the changes you've selected!
