Mabon is a time to give thanks for the bounty of the earth, and falls on the date of the autumnal equinox, which varies from year to year. Typically, it is between September 20 - 22 in the Northern Hemisphere, and March 20 - 22 in the Southern Hemisphere. In 2009, the autumn equinox falls on September 22 in the Northern Hemisphere. Below the equator, Mabon 2009 is on March 20.
