I thought this was a site for Pagans and Wiccans. How come you keep putting up ads for the Mormon Church on your website?
Well, first of all, I personally don't put them there. Here's the deal:
All the ads you see on this site are Google-generated. That means that there's a special keyword-related algorithm that is used to put certain ads onto this page (and others). In fact, they are all over About.com, not just on the Pagan/Wiccan site. The fact that our advertisers are willing to pay big bucks are what keeps About.com free for users. In other words, the LDS church is spending money here so you don’t have to. However, it's understandable that this may be offensive to some readers. It’s been an issue we’re trying to address with the advertising department, and have been looking into for months.
Believe me, I’m as annoyed about it as you are. Unfortunately, it’s not something I have control over, but as I said, it is being looked into. In the meantime, I’d suggest anyone who would like to nudge the Powers that Be can stop in over at Customer Care and tell them what you think.
