Believe it or not, all the Site Guides here at About.com are real live people. You can reach me at Email Patti. Before you do, though, take a minute to look through some of the most commonly asked questions I get in my in-box. It may be that someone has already asked what you need to know!
F.A.Q.
- Q. The previous Guide had classes online so I could learn more about Wicca and Paganism. Will you be doing that?
- A. Well, I'd like to, I really would. Because I'm a fairly new Guide (I started in June 2007), I've been gradually adding enough information so that I can provide a really thorough class. I've already put up a Wicca 101 Class, and the Seven-Day Sabbat series is a work in progress. As I introduce more e-classes, I'll be sure to let everyone know!
- Q. I'd really like to find a coven in my area. Can you help me find one?
- A. For starters, you should probably read the following: Find a Coven. Second, check with the listings on www.Witchvox.com, which has a comprehensive list of people in your area who are looking to network with other Pagans. Finally, you might want to post in the Forums, under the "Looking for Other Wiccans" category.
- Q. I'm new to Wicca -- where can I learn more?
- A. I'm hoping you'll be able to learn plenty right here on this website! Be sure to read the Basic Beliefs page, and check the blog each week to see what sort of articles I've added. This site is an ongoing work, with new materials going up all the time. Be sure to read Getting Started in Wicca, too. If there's something you'd like to see me cover, and I haven't gotten to it yet, just ask!
- Q. I sometimes forget to read your blog. Can you email me when you post something new?
- A. I'd love to! All you have to do is click on "Subscribe" and you'll get my weekly newsletter. It comes straight to your mailbox every Friday morning, and it's totally free! The newsletter includes the latest blog posts, new entries, and other fun stuff. Also, we don't sell your email address to anyone else.
- Q. I sell Pagan and Wiccan stuff, can I advertise on your site?
- A. Sure -- you'll need to contact the main office of About.com (look at the bottom of the screen for the link that says "Advertising"). There are a few retail businesses listed in the Shopping and Supplies section, but those are people I've shopped with and dealt with personally and feel comfortable recommending to readers.
- Q. I'd like to take private Wicca lessons from you. Can you teach me? I'll pay.
- A. Erm... no. Flattering indeed, but no thanks. The whole point of this site is to share information with everyone. Thanks for asking, though.
- Q. I just found your site. How do I know if you have any information about the topic I'm looking for?
- A. If you look up in the top right hand corner, there's a box that says "Search". Type in the topic you're interested in, and if I've posted anything about it, you'll get a page (or more) full of results. It will also show you results for other About.com pages, so if information is on more than one of our websites, you'll be able to get lots of different pieces to read.
