Samhain Countdown: Superstitions

In the Northern Hemisphere, we are gearing up for the Samhain season. In addition to all the magic we can conjure up at Samhain, there are a number of legends and bits of folklore associated with this holiday. Did you know that ringing a bell was believed to keep away the evil spirits, or that owls flew down on Samhain night to eat the souls of the dead?
