Are you one of our Northern Hemisphere readers who's getting ready for Samhain? Why not try a bit of spirit world communication while the veil is thin? Although traditionally a seance is a good way to communicate with those who have crossed into the spirit world, it's also perfectly fine to talk to them at other times. However, you don't need a fancy or formal ritual to speak to the dead, and if you've decided a seance might not be right for you, a great alternative is to hold a dumb supper. In this case, the word "dumb" refers to silence, rather than your family's behavior at the dinner table. Here are some tips on how to hold this powerful and silent ceremony:
