While those of you below the equator are wishing spring would just arrive, already, those of us in the Northern Hemisphere are saying farewell to summer, and with it, the warm weather. As it gets colder, spiders and other critters get more active -- by fall, spiders are seeking warmth, which is why you may find yourself suddenly face to face with an eight-legged visitor some night when you get up to use the bathroom.
Don't panic, though - most spiders are harmless, and people have learned to co-exist with them for thousands of years. Nearly all cultures have some sort of spider mythology, and folktales about these crawly creatures abound! Spider Folklore and Mythology

That sounds very cool!
I have a friend who’s a Shaman, and he made a pact with Spider: So long as She keeps Her children off him, and from biting him, he will not kill or harm them if they enter his home, instead removing them by non-lethal means.
To the best of my knowledge, he hasn’t been bitten since – and the area’s infested with Brown Recluse – one of the few varieties dangerous to humans.
What kind of spider is in the picture ? I have a wack of them in and around my home!
