Ostara is a time of balance. It is a time of equal parts light and dark. At Mabon, we have this same balance, but the light is leaving us. Today, six months later, it is returning. Spring has arrived, and with it comes hope and warmth. Deep within the cold earth, seeds are beginning to sprout. In the damp fields, the livestock are preparing to give birth. In the forest, under a canopy of newly sprouted leaves, the animals of the wild ready their dens for the arrival of their young. Spring is here, so why not celebrate with a simple ritual honoring the themes of the season? Ostara Rite for Solitaries

As a solitary, I think this is a very good ritual.
My adult neighbors think I’m a bit strange when I do rituals outside, so I will use small candles (think birthday). The funny thing is, the children love it when I put up fairy houses, bird houses, and the like up in the spring. They now See the birds and insects, and the budding of everything. they also look at the trees and find faces, and talk to them.
And some of them can make clouds vanish.
Of course the children don’t understand I am a hedge”WITCH”. They just think it’s fun.
