It's nearly Imbolc in the Northern Hemisphere right now, and for some magical traditions, this is a time of new beginnings. It's a season when new members are initiated into groups, or when solitary practitioners pledge to honor the deity that has been calling their name. It is a time of darkness before the light, and a season when we know that spring, and new life, is going to arrive at any moment. If your tradition is one that sees Imbolc as a season of dedication and initiation, consider using this Sabbat as a time to perform a ritual that makes a commitment. im trying to get my son a little more aware of the wiccan holidays with him being 8 and gruesome he really enjoyed the roman tradition of imbolc thank you
With Imbolc and the new moon approaching in a few days, it does seem like the time is perfect for a self dedication ritual. Thanks for posting the dedication right for solitaries — I plan to use it as my guide.
Did you notice that this dedication, as written, only works for females? Perhaps you could include a male-appropriate suggestion for the blessing that begins, “May my womb….”
Like all the rituals on this site, everything is adaptable to suit your personal needs. Obviously a male reader wouldn’t ask for a blessing of the womb — but you might ask for blessings of something else.

I always run into people who are so stern about using oils in ritual. This may not be the case for anyone else but I find that being able to make a tea or tincture from the necessary ingredients or a powder works equally well where appropriate. Of course this isn’t a tea you’d drink. The same can be said about choice of words.
All in all this is a great ritual to keep mind of!
