"Celtic Calendar" Henge Found in Germany

Researchers in Germany say they've found an early Celtic calendar construction, and the "order of the burials around the central royal tomb fits exactly with the sky constellations of the Northern hemisphere." A burial mound at Magdalenenberg, in the Black Forest, includes long rows of wooden posts that mark a constellation pattern which can be seen between Midwinter and Midsummer.

Dr. Allard Mees says his team was able to "reconstruct the position of the sky constellations in the early Celtic period and following from that those which were visible at Midsummer. This archaeo-astronomic research resulted in a date of Midsummer 618 BC, which makes it the earliest and most complete example of a Celtic calendar focused on the moon."

What a gread find! This may be one of the pieces needed to link the Celts with the Scythian tribe known as the Budini. (more info on the Budini and their capital city of Gelonus here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gelonus) The Budini are the only people in the early histories of the world that were known for their bright blue eyes and bright red hair (a trait that seemed to disappear with them until it started popping up in Northern Gaul, Scotland, and Ireland centuries later). They were known to be a nomadic-like people that lived in thick forests (like faeries, practically) and, oddly, they didn’t speak the same language as the rest of the Scythians. When war came to Scythia they burned their city and disappeared from the area completely – apparently making their way to the Black Forest before heading on further west.
