My personal knowledge of football is limited to the Ohio State-Michigan rivalry, so I don't know a heck of a lot about the Dallas Cowboys or their record. However, it appears that some folks in Texas are concerned that if the Cowboys have a losing season, it could be the fault of the community for inviting Satan in. Yep, Satan.
Caelum Moor is a former corporate sculpture park now relocated as public art near the football stadium, and a local pastor is telling everyone it's an "occultic landmark," and is warning everyone that demonic backlash could hex the football team. Chaplain Michael Tummillo was one of twenty evangelical pastors who signed a letter back in 1996, "complaining that Caelum Moor, then near Interstate 20, was attracting pagan and Wiccan religious events." The ministers claimed that the city was supporting Satanic shenanigans by allowing the Stonehenge-like sculpture's presence.
For some real entertainment, read the comments below Bud Kennedy's article. It seems like most of the area residents are more amused than worried.

Hysterical. I’m glad Bud took such a nonchalant attitude towards both the art and the chaplain’s reaction. Also glad to see that most of the comments were similar. Loved the one who pointed out that if pagans worship in the botanical gardens that may make them demon infested as well. lol Suggestion to chaplain – get, and use, some dictionaries, thesauri, and phrase books. Research the term – to make a mockery of. Erecting a piece of art in the style of an amazing and important cultural and possibly religious landmark which predates Christianity does not mock Christianity. If anything, it could be said to mock the aforementioned culture and/or religion. Now, erecting said monument out of crosses with little voodoo dolls affixed to them might be construed as mocking Christianity. Then again, it could also be a purposeful and thought provoking message about the pandemic nature of religions in cultures. Quick, to the clay!
How long have these sculptures been there? Well, if the ‘curse’ had started when they went in/up, I might believe this. But this is rediculous.
If a culture – like those who erected Stonehenge – has never heard of worshiping a single diety, how can what the do be considered wrong/evil/bad?
Wow…just wow.
(howls of derisive laughter) These preachers aren’t doing Christianity any favors, are they?
Are you kidding me? That’s one of my favorite things about driving around Dallas. Dude needs to let it go. Its art. Its beautiful. Cowboys suck. Get over it. And yes, I do call Texas my home. But I could give a care about football.
How about admitting that since Troy Aiken retired, the Cowboys simply suck. Don’t blame artwork that is nearby, blame the coaches and the players. Bunch of nutters.
I’m a Saints fan. Apparently the gris-gris created by the voudou priestesses in Algiers are working this year. WHODAT!
