Samhain: Celebrate the End of the Harvest
Sunday October 12, 2008
If you live in an area that produces crops, you may have noticed something recently. The corn stalks are brown and dried. Fields that were once green are now bare. Our summer blossoms have gone dormant or died, and even the hardy perennials in your garden are probably looking rather peaked lately. The end of the harvest has come with Samhain, and it's time to acknowledge this. It's the time to start canning and preserving our goodies to get us through the coming winter months, and to welcome the warmth of a good fire on a chilly night. Try this ritual to get you into the Samhain spirit: Celebrate the End of the Harvest
