The Pagan Voting Project
Wednesday September 17, 2008
Full Circle has set up the Pagan Voting Project page, chock full of useful and non-partisan information for voters in the upcoming presidential election here in the US. Sponsored by Spiral Goddess Grove, New Witch Magazine, and a few other groups, the aim of Full Circle Events is to get every American Pagan registered to vote, AND get them to the polls. Because, as the site points out, lighting a candle isn't quite enough.
Seriously, if you live in the US and you haven't registered to vote, do so. Your voice can't be heard if you don't exercise your right -- no, your duty -- to get to the polls on November 4th. I hear a lot of people say "Well, you can't trust politicians so I'm not voting." That's a cop-out. Our country was founded on the idea that everyone gets to participate in government. If you don't do your part, that means someone else is making the decisions for you, because they took the time to show up. Much like magic, voting gives us the power to bring about change in things we don't like.
Take a stand. Make your mark. Cast your vote, for whoever and whatever you may believe in.

You raise a very good point, Patti. If we want things to change, we have to make it happen. In this case it means sacrificing one’s time to make it out to the polls. It’s well worth it, in my opinion.
I agree with Ross1985, we are best to remember that a few minutes of our time is worth voting for a person we are going to be ruled by for the next 4-8 years. One vote is all we get, one vote is all it takes to make majority tie-breaker.
