DNC Updates from Blue Pagans

Sunday August 3, 2008
With the presidential election looming ever closer on the horizon, it was only a matter of time before the conventions began. Believe it or not, there are two openly Pagan delegates at the Democratic National Convention, and they've started a blog called Blue Pagans to keep people updated as to goings-on at the DNC. Rita Moran is a Democratic Party official who was outed a while back by a fundamentalist Christian group, and Ed Lachowicz is a Maine Democratic State Committeeman and a regular blogger at Turn Maine Blue. You can subscribe to their posts via RSS feed, as well as following along on their blog.

Anyone know if there are any "Red Pagans" out there who will be blogging too? It would be nice to give the Republican National Convention a fair shake as well so folks of both political parties can be represented.

(1) Ed Mortimer says:

It is utterly dumbfounding for me to realize that Pagans are as politically naive as the rest of the USA. Why, oh why don’t the nature-oriented Pagans gravitate, or even acknowledge, the one party that reflects some of their core values — The Green Party. Joining the Green Party makes a lot of sense — besides having a political party fighting for Mother Earth and a better life for us all, there is a greater role available for Pagans within the party itself, and a greater impact can be made upon the whole political system. The Democratic and Republican parties are The Problem. Both are owned by Big Corporate Money — Obama & McCain are just more of the same. Vote McKinney/Clemente for real hope and change.
