Take the Poll: Does Kathy Lee Gifford Hate Pagans?
Thursday June 26, 2008
I'd rather remove my eyes with a spork than sit through seven minutes of Kathy Lee Gifford, but reader TwinkerBelle tipped me off to this video of yesterday's Today Show. Apparently Kathy Lee was going around a wedding asking people little quizzy questions so she could give them gift bags. At around the 4:45 mark, here's the exchange:
Kathy Lee: Why do you wear your wedding band on your left hand ring finger? Is it because (a) most people write with their right hand? Is it (b), because Egyptians believed that finger follows the vein of love to the heart, or (c), the Pagans -- the nasty, bad Pagans -- believed it was bad luck to wear metal on your right side?
Now, I know Kathy Lee is all big into born-again Christianity, and she's quite devout -- more power to her, she's welcome to be. But really, Kathy Lee, was that little dig necessary? If she had said, "Those greedy, sneaky Jews" or "Those dirty, unwashed Hindus", or any other ugly stereotype, it would have been equally obnoxious.
Take the poll, and tell us what you think!
Oh, and if you want to tell MSNBC or the Today show what you think, you can do it here: Contact the Show.

She should certainly apologize!
I’m glad to see this getting much more attention today than it was yesterday.
I emailed them shortly after she said it,and quite a few others did too.
Starting a letter writing capaign to their sponsors has been suggested if they choose to continue to ignore the issue.
I don’t give a crap if she “didn’t know any better”. She still shouldn’t have said what she did AND the network should have clued in on the fact that it wasn’t at all a good thing for any one to say.
She should appologize. Who knows, maybe if she did and it made news, some possitive light could be directed our way.
Initially I thought - “whatever - it’s probably just KLG being a pain” - however, after watchng it and hearing her tone - I really do think she should apologize. Like Patti said if she had made a comment about any other religion or group it would be a huge affair.
Well, you know, she’s never struck me as someone who has a whole lot of awareness about anything outside her own little world. Heck, maybe on Planet Kathy Lee there aren’t any Pagans. There probably aren’t any homeless people or hungry kids either
But yeah, it was obnoxious, and even if she didn’t know better, it would be nice if she said something along the lines of “Golly gosh, I had no idea I was saying something so offensive.”
patti
It would be cool if she apologized, but I don’t think that will happen. What I think would be better is if she just didn’t say anything about any other religion but her own.
Well I think that she is little more than an unenlightened, narrow- minded, washed-up has been and her comments will have little to no significance in the end.
Although I would like to see her appologize and perhaps be repremanded for her hateful comments, I am a realist and relize such hope is futile.
All we can do as Pagans is look to people like her as shining examples of what NOT to be.
Holy freaking crap! I bet she’d be up in arms if someone made a dig at Christianity right in front of her!
I just sent an email to the show’s address that you provided, Patti. I find her dig on pagans to be blatantly offensive.
KLG might do well to remember that those “nasty bad Pagans” don’t have a mile-long list of wars and murderous rampages. The same cannot be said of those Jehovah-fearing Xians.
I wonder if anyone who sent the Today Show an email will receive any type of reply. It would be horrible if they choose to ignore people’s complaints. We’ll have to keep each other informed as to what happens
Interesting comment Ross! I sent an email to tell them I thought it was highly rude of her - I will be curious to see if there is any kind of response…
Most groups jump at an opportunity like this to bring awareness to thier cause or problem. So, it would be a waste if this opportunity wasn’t used to bring about some awareness, even if you didn’t particularly feel it was a derogatory comment or you saw it as a joke. Sometimes one comment can cause more damage than you realize. Remember, words are powerful.
Just FYI, I did send a polite letter to the programming folks at Today. I didn’t blast them, nor did I call for Kathy Lee’s head on a platter (how’s THAT for a bad, nasty Pagan!), but I did ask that maybe they encourage their “popular on-air personalities” to educate themselves a bit about various spiritual paths, so that offensive statements won’t be made out of sheer ignorance.
We’ll see if I get a reply
patti
She made a “blanket apology” to nobody in particular, and then made light of it the rest of the show.
It’s on their website video clips under “Hoda and Kathie Lee on Coldplay”
Linkage is here: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/21134540/vp/25411068#25411068, and you have to sit through it up to about the 2:30 mark… but I call BS on that one. That’s not an actual “I made an offensive statement and I’m sorry” apology. That’s a “I know I’m an obnoxious twit and I’ve said a LOT of offensive stuff and will continue to do so” apology.

i think she should apologize and then go do some research on the religion..then maybe she wont put her foot in her mouth.
I’m sending my letter.
Do what I did. Go to her webpage and leave a message for ALL her fans to see! I can’t believe she has fans but their are stupid people out there. She is living proof.
Wow - it just goes to show how much ignorance is still alive in the year 2008. I obviously am not Christian and I believe the name of Christianity has been used to do terrible things in the past - but I respect their religion. I would never, ever disrespect it in this way.
Had Kathy Lee said the name of any RELIGION other than paganism, she may have faced serious consequences. I want and expect a full apology from this stupid, ignorant woman. In fact - I think she should be made to spend at least 100 hours learning the history of paganism. Too bad that won’t happen.
So far I have not received a response from the Today Show. I didn’t see her apology, but it sounds like it was utter crap.
And you’re right, Pagan Woman. If she had said the name of any other religion, she would be facing serious consequences. Unfortunately, nothing will probably happen about it.
Her apology was one thing only: Insult-to-injury. To allow her to get away with this is to allow a member of the media to continue to perpetuate myths about Pagans that simply are not in any way true - if we don’t stand up for ourselves now, how will we bring about change? Kathie Lee needs to be held accountable for her actions. I know, I know, consider the source (this is, after all, the woman with the sweat-shop), however, as a parent and a Priestess, I choose to stand up with the many, many people who were offended - happily MANY are also Christians - who have written NBC (one of those who wrote copied her letter to my LJ, it’s beautifully written!), so that should also show the powers that be and KLG that it’s not just us. Now, if she can just take responsibility for her actions……it’d be done!
Since you get a form letter (one to say they’ve recieved your email, another to say they don’t answer individual emails), I suggest also contacting Universal, the parent company of NBC.
You actually received a reply, Kris? What’s the email address for Universal?
The attack on pagans was specific and direct. The appology should be no less direct. Kathy Lee’s slur against pagans was more than just a display of ignorance, it was insulting and innexcusable. Please feel free to sign this petition, and help stop this sort of bigotry from being aired in the future.
http://www.thepetitionsite.com/1/quotnasty-bad-pagansquot-protesting-hate-speech-on-nbc
There’s a shortened version of her mocking apology on Youtube for those that don’t want to sit through 11 minutes to see it.
Get it out there if you can.
I think most people that have seen her original remarks didn’t see her mock apology.
Horrid ignorant woman.
She is so fake. Yes, she should make a formal apology to all Pagans. Her ignorance has always been there now that she’s older it just seems to slip more. Blessed Be
Oh yeah, I sent a letter to MSNBC too
I knew she was ignorant, but stupid, too?
She also represnts “born again” people. I’m signing everything and complaining to everyone.
I used to watch her on with Regis and back years and years ago during a St Patrick’s Day show there were some Irish dancers on she asked then what St Patrick did and they told her that he drove the Pagans from Ireland. And she went on to say that he got the ‘Satan Worshipers’ out of Ireland. So she is just a clueless Xtian who is sadly uninformed about what a Pagan truly is.
well she’s obviously stupid isnt she?? i feel sorry for her, her mouth is bigger than her brain.
I emailed the Today show and called, plus I signed this petition. I did not get a return email and so far no response that I can find anywhere from anyone. Anyone have an update?
I think all the Botox has seeped into her brain.
Well, what can you expect from a nasty, bad, ignorant christian?
Oops, did I say that out loud? Sorry!
I was just appalled. This woman displays the ignorance and intolerance that so many in the brainwashed Christian community has to any other religion other than their own. Her comment only fuels the battle we face as pagans to be accepted as a valid belief system.
Apologies should be given. I am from the Bristol, TN. area. When she visited the Freedom Hall Civic Center for an event a year or so ago Mrs. Gifford slapped all of the folks from the area a good slap across the face. She, while on stage, spoke to her adoring folling that, “Y’all clean up right nice.” to paraphrase. Now, those were her fans who paid good money to see her. So it isn’t just we pagans that are getting bashed. I think she is just a narrow minded insensitive person.
We all know she doesn’t know any better as she is seriously uneducated about the ways of Pagans, is only repeating rhetoric that she learned in Sunday school. Ignorance is no excuse though and she should apologize- if nothing else because she is so uneducated in our ways and therefore had no reason to spout off without engaging her brain first.
Little did she know, when asking all those questions at the end of the segment- that the majority of the wedding traditions that are upheld today originated from the Pagan handfasting rites and were stolen from the Pagans by the Christians. What a cow. She needs to learn when not to Mooo.
Magick Moon.
For everyone who was offended by Kathy Lee Giffords words…think about this. How many of you have ever bashed Christianity? How many of you have ever said something bad about another religion because of a misunderstood fact or tradition? I know I have. Our society needs to quit being so sensitive and “easily hurt.” Growing up self- sufficient hunters, mechanics and handy-men in my family gave us thick skin and I think America needs to grow up…or quit whinning!
Brightest Blessings to all.

I really think this is getting overblown, yes, she’s narrow, ignorant, etc. But what she said taken IN CONTEXT to the rest of the quiz, was just a stupid way of ‘hinting’ to the contestant what the correct answer was. I was not offended at all, I took it as someone making a really bad joke. If I got all butt-hurt everytime someone made a bad joke, I’d be keeping hemorriod cream in business!!!
Look.
I am sick and tired of hearing the backlash of idiotic pro pagan comments from these attention starved little outcasts.
It was a joke!
I mean when did Americans become so sensitive and paranoid that freedom of speech means “only if it is approved by every religious (and I use that word lightly) community, ethnicity, and other group of commonly offended people on the planet?
First of all 99% of you “pagans” are media pagans. Fashion pagans. Fake, fraudulent self pity filled friendless morons who decided to jump on the pagan bandwagon because it has had some media attention as of late. CLUE people…THE WICKER MAN was a movie. Fictional. Get a life.
Second, to the moron who said most of the wedding traditions were originally pagan and stolen by the Christians:
Where do you get your facts?
Fact:
In western society some aspects of modern family relationships and composition can be traced to ancient Mesopotamia and Babylonia. Ideas such as the wedding, marriage, and divorce began developing then.

I’m sure she doesn’t know any better, but that doesn’t mean she shouldn’t apologize. Her comment was as offensive as any other religious stereotype, and she should apologize, simple as that. Nothing needs to be blown out of proportion.
Yes, some will bash any they disagree with in private or cloaked. This is being proudly displayed on a nationally recognized television station. By association without fallout nor apology by any of those associated, it speaks volumes of how they themselves feel, too. MSNBC would not have so proudly displayed the video if KLG had spoken the same words and replaced “Pagans” with any other religious denomination.
Hm. Or maybe they would have. Anyone know?
Thanks Paganwiccan for posting the link to Kathie Lee’s “apology”. Wow, that really sucked lol! She could have come up with a way better apology than that.
I’m sure she’s happy to have all those bad, nasty pagan children working in her sweat shops!!
Seriously, this woman is an overprivileged idiot with nothing valid to offer humanity and the only way to handle her is by exposing the joke that she is.
I never watch this dreck anyway so I’m not going to worry about it. I’m sure NBC’s gotten the hint.
I don’t think the twit knows that pagans still exist. She’s probably been told that “they” were the ones giving Jesus a hard time. That’s why she says the word as if it’s a disease. You know, the way people used to talk about “catching” gay!
Just because it might not have been said in conscious malice toward contemporary people doesn’t mean that it should be ignored. The mis-education should be corrected or it will continue to be propagated.
I don’t ever see pagans preaching to outsiders and trying to recruit people to join their beliefs as I do the christians.
I’m sure she once again commented on a topic that she knows nothing about.
I feel sorry for her and the born agains, anyone who has to preach their beliefs to others I believe to be very insecure in their own religion .
Who CARES what Kathy Lee says and/or thinks…I know I don’t. She will always be “closed” and if people petition for an apology it won’t be from the heart. Let her have her beliefs and views…it’s nothing to get our knickers in a knot about. If there ARE any people out there who hang on every word Kathy Lee Gifford says and look to her for wisdom…well, I just feel sorry for them…
My letter to MSNBC
To whom it may concern,
I’m a practicing Wiccan and have been for the last 15 years. I guess that makes me, according to Kathy Lee Gifford and MSNBC, a “dirty little Pagan”. This upsets me a great deal. Not so much that Gifford said what she did. She obviously doesn’t know any better. But that no one at MSNBC had the sense to clue her in to the fact that it’s not ok to talk about “any” religion in a derogatory manner, truly disturbs me. Is this the view of MSNBC? The Pagan community awaits your response.
Blessed be!
Isaac Prado
I have to agree with a few posts I’ve read being a pagan for almost 30 years beleive me I heard it all but I did write the show to remind Ms. Gifford that it wasn’t long ago that I saw her on her & regis when she was trying to hold back the tears with the Walmart scandal and the scandal with her husband and I took her side because its tuff to be in the public eye but a sincere appology would have been quite christian of her, don’t you think?
I’m sure D3m0n1k was a drive-by poster who’ll never read this response, but to others like him/her:
Being angry over an offensive comment does not mean we don’t think that person has a First Amendment, legal right to say it.
It means that the Today Show has stated and implied guidelines of conduct and many of us believe that KLG crossed way over those lines. Putting it another way:
I support the freedom of porn movies to exist, even if I don’t like them.
I have nothing against Nickelodeon choosing to call itself a children’s channel.
I would take issue with Nickelodeon, calling itself a children’s channel AND airing porn.
+++++++
Likewise…
+++++++
I support freedom of speech, even if I think what’s being said is bigoted, ignorant and promotes hate.
I have nothing against The Today Show calling itself fair and balanced and against bigoted hate speech.
I do take issue with The Today Show calling itself fair and balanced and against bigoted hate speech, then passively allowing one of its staff to get away with bigoted hate speech.
========
I sent my letter to The Today Show, telling them I’d be happy to go on the show and have KLG tell me face-to-face just what it is she thinks is so nasty and bad about me.
She is a hack, a has been- trying to get attention. Who would let her in their wedding in the first place?
I can see merit and feel the same as any one who has made previous comments. Sometimes in darker moments I think Christians should again be lion food. Please express negative opinions towards her publically in a positive manner. She deserves compassion and teaching from our community.
1). Who the blazes is Kathy Lee Gifford, anyway?
2). Who cares what this old, broken down, and lonely woman thinks?
She must think she’s some sort of Ruby Wax of Christendom. Try the Xian view of ‘Do unto others’, and see how she likes it.
As an ex-xian, I have met her type before, many times. They run off at the mouth, no thought other than ‘look at me, look at me!’
No thank you, Kathy. Your time is nearly over.
I don’t know why we do’t send something after her as a community. Those of us that are not bound by karma, that is.
A simple search and destroy servitor with the energy backing from the Chaos or Discordian folks should do it.
I’ve just endured 2.30 minutes of the so called ‘apology’ show.Boy, that was hard! 2.30 minutes of my precious time wasted on stupid talk about HAIR! Are these women REAL? Do you people in America actually WATCH this kind of crap? I think you are giving her too much attention. OK, the woman is brain-dead, just switch off the idiot box!
Kathy Lee seems to have forgotten that she is Old News. Someone being accused of child abuse on a massive scale should watch their mouth.
Quite honestly, I’m used to the Pagan-Bashing. Doesn’t make it anymore comforting to hear though. And to the poster who asked if we ever made a remark to Christians about their religion… I see where you are going, but there is a major difference. We might say it in the comforts of our homes, but Kathy Lee said it in front of millions of watchers. That’s poor taste.
I remember seeing that happen and I am glad that someone else noticed. I was really peeved off about it.
I watched the west coast broadcasting of the show which made it worse. The idoits in the control room obviously didn’t notice the comment because they didn’t bleeb it or anything which they had the chance to do for the west coast.
Kathy Lee obviously does not know what she is talking about. Her ‘public’ statement proves her intelligence level.
Maybe Kathy Lee should study a bit about Paganism before she opens that famous big mouth of hers ~ oh that nasty, dirty mouth! How would Kathy Lee feel if everyone only saw her as someone having such a nasty, dirty mouth?
Seems to me she’s not even a real good practicing Born Again Christian since she casts judgement upon others ~ isn’t that a mortal sin? Casting judgement upon others? Can she honestly practice or honors such commandments as “(s)he who has not sinned cast the first stone?” Hmmmmm, makes me wonder if she really follows or practices any religion at all!
If she really understood what Paganism is all about she would realize much of what she lives by is taken from the elements and basics of nature which is from the Pagan’s Old Ways.
What a waste of time this woman has caused.
Actually we should feel some sympothy over her stupidity and ignorance.
Maybe somehow or in some way she’ll realize with her heart and soul what she has made herself out to be. Yet, I honestly don’t believe she would be honest enough to take on her own responsibilities of trial and errors in her life. At least within Paganism we seek to live in peace and within nature and take responsibility for our own actions; unlike Kathy Lee. She’s so fake!
Brightest Blessings Everyone!
I think someone should file a lawsuit. I think the only way to get people like Kathy to get a clue is to hit them where they have to pay attentnion. Her bank account. If she would have made this comment about any other religion more would be done. I think they should fire her, take her off the air. If she can’t be polite and not make negative comments then she does not get to speak. If you don’t have anything nice to say shut up and don’t say anything at all! People who are on TV don’t get to say comments about other people’s religions, race, sex ect.
So, Mary Wood, I see you are yet another Pagan making assumptions and accusations about people without just cause.
Who are you to say anything about me or my feelings and opinions on this subject? You people sit and bitch all the time about how you are ridiculed and picked on yet you are the first ones to jump up and run your mouths about someone else in a negative way.
This only serves to prove the ridicule is warranted and justified when directed at you.
I did not say I agreed with KLG and what she said. I have NOTHING against paganism, satanism, wicca, etc. Hell I don’t care if you pray to Donald Duck while having sex with duck billed platypuses on the weekends. Just don’t throw it in my face and expect me to treat you like someone special, and don’t ask me to borrow my platypus! He is shy. he would not like you.
I do think 99% of you so called “pagans” are nothing more than wannabe attention starved emo-addicted idiots who seek out comfort in other sad souls which you can relate to with your whining and crying.
The fact is, she made a joke. Period. I take you have NEVER made a joke in bad taste? You have never laughed at a joke which was in bad taste? Oh, right, it is only bad taste when directed towards YOU…correct?
Look, just admit it meant nothing and stop trying to garner more attention than you are worth. Remember, zero is worth ZERO. Take the hint.
I am a Pagan, a practicing Wiccan, and an ordained minister through the ULC. To say that I’m offended over Ms Gifford’s statement is putting it mildly. The Pagan community has worked very hard to shrug off the stereotype that people like Ms Gifford have spread for centuries. I, at least, do not exploit under age children by making them work in a sweat shop in order to gain riches for myself.
Ms. Gifford, not only you, but the Today Show, it’s producers and sponsers, should make a public apology to the Pagan community.
Or does the network support this Hitler/ Nazi type propoganda? I ask this because it is this exact type of drivel that was responsible for the attempted extermination of an entire race of people.
After World War II the Jewish people said “Never again!”. After the Inquisition, the Burning Times, and hundreds of years of oppression I say “Never again”!
I have to agree that Kathy Lee’s comment doesn’t bother me either but I did take the initiative to sign the petition and wrote 2 letters asking that we Americans need more education on religion and beliefs. We have to start somewhere and if it takes using Kathy Lee to get there then so be it. What is lacked in the media is comments such as ‘this person was such a loving caring person and served well in his/her community and people loved him/her for the pagan belief that s/he stands’. This kind of comment is only known to pagan/wiccan sights and magazines. So for a person to comment on pagans, such as Kathy Lee, is making the statement on how pagans are bad. Are we not allowed to be recognized as well for the media to see that we are true at heart? Then if we are recognized, then people can actually make judgement. Whether we like it or not people will, but at least know about pagans then just make an outright comment on people they don’t understand. Also I would like to say on behalf of Magickmoon that, I agree, handfasting is as old as earth (even from different cultures, some change some stayed the same) and since ‘pagan’ means country dwellers of various religion and religious beliefs, pagans are just as old. I belief we are all off shoots of paganism. So we may make accusations and assume anything but we should remember that not everyone found anything funny about Kathy Lees’ comment. Including our christian followers.
I just tried to watch the video and it ended before the Pagan comment. Maybe it was removed because of all of the negative response. I do have to say that I honestly believe that if the comment had been made against another faith that she would most likely have lost her job. In the past people in the public eye, have been fired for a lot less.
oh give it a rest they aren’t going to do anything they aren’t going to make her say ” I would like to say sorry to Pagans for what i said, I am truly sorry.” no they won’t have her say anything so all of you can keep writing and calling and do whatever else but nothing is going to get done. And hmm lets see were not all offshoots of everything or whatever you said kitty yes pagan means paganus, meaning “country dweller, rustic”, also called paynim) is a word used to refer to various religions and religious beliefs from across the world. It is a term which, from a Western perspective, has modern connotations of spiritualist, animistic or shamanic practices or beliefs of any folk religion, and of historical and contemporary polytheistic religions in particular.
I could go on and on about it but i won’t i will only give that and let you poder the rest and then pounce on me for being to intelligent.
Oh those Christians! But then, I prefer to report her and others like her, to beloved Lord and Lady. Karmic debt is bad on issues like that, and the Gods have a way of dealing with them, that I enjoy watching. Petty thingies like her don’t deserve our precious energies, rather spend it blessing someone who deserves it. Blessings, you all!
Disgusting. That was the most insincere, fake apology I’ve ever heard. She basically says “I guess I just need to do an apology each month for all the people I’ve offended, so you know who you are, I’m sorry, from the bottom of my heart!…now onto something else” It’s disgusting. How about this - try not to offend people? Then maybe you won’t have to apologize every month? It’s almost as if our complaints weren’t deserving of a true apology and she somehow felt like just saying something, although its obvious she thinks it to be laughable, will make everything ok.
I know my mom always taught me that “what offends you makes you weak,” and I try to keep that in mind at times like this. But I don’t think we are asking for a lot here by requesting a REAL apology. Something, though, tells me that we won’t get one from this uneducated and out-of-touch woman.
As Bug Bunny would say, “What a maroon!” And not to make too fine a point, but technically, weren’t the Egyptians pagans, too? Wonder if she just doesn’t like Pagans w/ a capital “P” but keeps the heart fires glowing for pagans (little “p”)? Idiot - get back on your cruise ship!
What is this woman teaching her children? To be prejudiced? I had no idea this is what the christian women taught. AND I was raised mormon!!! Wow. The sponsors should be appauled also. She is representing them. Maybe because there are so few of us, they dont care. We might be a minority, but we have rights also. This is not freedom of speach. If it is, then i can say she is a “nasty, bad born again…..”
So what if she was just joking? Jokes are very effective vehicles for put-downs, slurs, and other things you can’t say directly. The words are still hostile and someone like her has influence on other people’s attitudes. Unless she’s a closet pagan and was being ironic…?
There is no way she’ll apologize; people like her who wear their religious affiliations on their sleeve or claim some sort of affiliation to Christ are the FIRST to look down on others who DON’T. I have about as much use for her and her ilk as they do for me.
hmm well lets see egyptians as pagans hmm here is a link and you can choose for yourselves http://pagan.wikia.com/wiki/Egyptian_Paganism
and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Egyptians
ok and i don’t think that you are going to get the apology your wanting from her, I really don’t see it in the cards.
yes there are egyptian pagans there are a bunch of groups of pagans I am in one of them I am here is a link for you to look at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Judeo-Paganism
But I am a Mystic so I dable in many areas of the Occult.
She most certainly should apologize! It’s ignorant, uninformed comments like that which is the reason people do not progress and grow! Why isn’t she being approached on it? Is it because most people have no idea what or who pagans are or what we believe? If she made the same comment about Catholics, Jews, Muslins, Hindus or any other religious organization they would be all over her like a bad rash!
Yes Ms. Kathy Lee Gifford what you said was principally and morally wrong. Do you teach your kids such prejudice, if you have any?
let’s all contact NBC
Frankly, I cannot watch Kathy Lee. I do watch the Today show from 7-10 & when she comes on….RACHEL RAY on ABC!
I must agree with RavenCatMoonbeam….she’s not worth our energies…and I believe that Karma will come around her way…
Stupid bitch…oh well, we deal with them everyday don’t we?
LOL…nothing to ponder or pounce about Mystic…you just basicly repeated what I just stated.
It is Tuesday, has anyone heard anything yet from the network? I am not holding my breathe on KL, a woman who in her own way supports child slavery isnt too concerned about what others may think. so much for her Christain values.
That comment was uncalled for in her little poll. Just another case of ignorance towards something people don’t understand. But the Gods help you if you made a comment about their religion or belief. Maybe she should educate herself a little more before make comments.
Let me just say, with all the compassion in my heart, that I feel sorry for people who make comments such as D3MOn1K makes. Obviously people like this can’t tell the difference between making a “joke”-in bad taste or otherwise in the privacy of one’s own home or amongst friends and making an offensive, derrogatory, and ignorant comment on NATIONAL TELEVISION.
But, I digress, as I’ve said before KLG’s comments will mean little to nothing in the end, so, it doesn’t really matter.
Keep in mind, that if she is truly christian, then she has insulted both herself and her professed religion by making the comment on the poll. The ultimate insult to her own religion is making such comments and her attitude and apparent mockery of other individuals. Given her history of using child labor in sweat shops to produce her line of clothing, crying and asking for forgiveness while on television, and then again showing her ignorance and insensitivity by making the type of comments on this video, I don’t think any pagan (or any other religious group) has anything to fear from Ms. Gifford. The only persons to be injured by her are her “followers” (pity the group) and those who find themselves associated with her.
As far as her ” appology goes” what appology, from the bottom of my heart? Kathy, were you not suppose to read the q cards ver batum? if so then why did you say what you said. It is a q card not shoot from the hip.
Pagans Unite and Demand an official appology for this is religious descriminatioin in its worst form.
Joke or no, she did offend people…I agree that Ms. Gifford should apologize SINCERELY to the Pagan populace…but will we get it? Highly doubtful.
At this point, I say, it’s done with. Build a bridge and get over it…
and remember the Threefold Law…
Brightest Blessings to all!
Yes, Kathie Lee is oblivious to the world around her and only centered in her own. Her born-again ways have certainly clouded her judgement. I think she should apologize. But will that happen? Doubt it. She is just an idiot who will hopefully realize her mistake and be a “loving” christian like she should be.
