Study Shows "Fluid and Diverse" Pattern of Faith
Wednesday February 27, 2008
A comprehensive study by the Pew Forum on Religious & Public Life has shown some interesting results when it comes to the ever-changing face of American spirituality. The study relied on interviews with over 35,000 adult Americans of many different religious backgrounds, and reveals some surprising facts.
Paganism and Wicca aside, the entire report is worth reading, particularly when you break things down into smaller categories. I suspect that long-term, this study is going to have a huge impact on how many people view the religious face of this country.
- America is seeing a constant and varied shift in religious choices, and most people seem to be unconcerned with doctrinal distinctions.
- Immigration is creating a significant amount of change within certain religious groups, particularly due to the largely Catholic population of Hispanic immigrants.
- More and more people are turning away from the faiths of their childhoods.
- The major Christian denominations, such as Protestantism, are losing members rapidly.

Yes, the CoG poll was definitely not the most definitive of polls. I am definitely +1 Wiccan!
the fact that more cathlic priest are messing with the kids mit be sending some of them looking some place new as well.
I finally found the question asked in the survey, this clears up a lot of questions, now my question are : How many pagans, wiccans, or new agers voluntarily went to the Pew forum on religion and public life to take this survey? It does not sound like a place I would feel welcomed going to. How many of you even knew about this survey or this sight? obviously if I didn’t go and you didn’t go than who did go. and why is it there map looks like we of “other faiths” all live in Arizona, New Hampshire and Vermont? LOL
D
Hooray for Paganism!
It’s good to see that the “Cult of Death’, as the Romans called it, is on the wane.
Goodbye to fear, hypocrisy, and lies.
I for one say, YES!
