Wiccan Lottery Winner Has Big Dreams
Friday January 18, 2008
Back around the end of August, Baltimore accountant Ellwood "Bunky" Bartlett made headlines when he won the MegaMillions jackpot. Bartlett didn't hide the fact that he's Wiccan, and publicly said that he had prayed to his gods prior to buying his winning ticket. To show his gratitude, he said, he wanted to use some of his winnings to build a Pagan seminary-type center. The mainstream press jumped on the story, and before you could say "Hogwarts," there were reports of some sort of "magic school" spreading all over the Internet.
However, what Bartlett has planned is actually a little different. He took some time recently to answer some questions for us here at About.com, and explains exactly what it is he has in mind with the Willow Spring Sanctuary. He shared his goals and plans with us here in this exclusive interview: Meet Bunky Bartlett.

Great interview, and kudos to Bunky for following through on his prayers. Sounds like the community will receive a valuable asset with the center. Hope they’re open-minded enough to appreciate it.
I agree!! It would be nice to see him be able to start something that could spread!!
Good for Bunky! My hats off to him.
That is a very nice interview. I think all Pagans are celebrating Bunky’s good fortune. Cheers to him for wanting to give back; such a selfless act. May he continue to be rewarded in life.
Blessed Be Bunky! We need more people like you putting fears to rest that Pagans are evil. Now the world will see what good really is…
Go Bunky! Go Pagans! And “Props” to you,Patti!
Love the interview. May the Gods and Goddesses be with him in whatever he decides to do! I agree with another comment we need to show others that Pagans are NOT evil in any way!
I hope someday (when my parents-in-law are no longer with us, maybe?) I will be as brave and bold as Bunky!!
I ment they might move to Florida! Really!
