Looking for a simple layout to use in your Tarot readings? Try the Pentagram Tarot Layout -- it uses five cards plus a Significator, and calls upon the five aspects of the pent -- Earth, Air, Water, Fire and Spirit as its guiding forces. It's basic enough that a beginner can try it, and focused enough that more experienced readers can use it as well.

This is one of the first layouts I created when I started reading Tarot cards, and I've used it for about ten years. I've found it highly useful as a guidance tool and for decision-making issues.

So, tell us -- what's your favorite layout to use, and why?

I LOVE the sound of this spread. I’ll certainly try it out, at some point!

You state that you created this spread, is that correct? I have found it on a few other sites, so was just wondering…I like your explanations but to print up the pages each seperate it too much, any way to make it one full page of text?

Alice (2)- I designed this version years ago, and have been using it since the late 1990s. That’s not to say other people couldn’t have come up with a similar version — certainly, the idea of using a pentagram in a Tarot reading can’t be something that no one ever thought of but me. But yeah, ever since I published it here on About.com, I’ve seen it replicated verbatim on a number of websites — including my copyrighted photos!

As to condensing everything into one page, the way our templates are designed here on About.com, if I want to include images, I have to separate each section into a different page. Sorry :)
